National Cycling Conference 2026

Stockholm, 25–27 August

The Cycling Conference is Sweden’s national meeting place for everyone working strategically and practically with the development of cycling and sustainable mobility. In 2026, the conference will be held in Stockholm and will bring together stakeholders from across the country, along with European perspectives from leading cities, organisations, and researchers in cycling and active mobility.

During the conference days, the programme will offer lectures, parallel sessions, workshops, and study visits. Politicians, public officials, researchers, the business sector, and civil society will meet to share knowledge, compare approaches, and discuss how cycling can be increased—through governance, planning, implementation, and concrete measures—in different types of municipalities and regions.

The programme includes parallel sessions in both Swedish and English, allowing for in depth discussions, comparisons, and international knowledge exchange. The focus is on practical examples, lessons learned from completed initiatives, and joint problem solving, with opportunities to bring your own questions and challenges into the conversations.

The Cycling Conference is also a space for professional networking, where contacts are made between actors working with cycling at local, national, and European levels. Stockholm is the host city and offers opportunities to experience current cycling initiatives on site, including guided cycle tours along new and reconstructed cycling infrastructure.
